Logistics and Inventory Clerk

About the role

F.T. Farfan (Jamaica) Limited is recruiting a Logistics and Inventory Clerk for a full-time, on-site position in Kingston, Jamaica. The role provides clerical support and assists with all logistics and inventory activities and transactions within the department. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Jamaica, and relocation costs are the candidate's responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Process and file manual inventory transactions (delivery notes, inter-warehouse transfers, stock adjustments) on the company database.
• Ensure foreign purchases are costed correctly before being entered into the inventory database, and receive local stock purchases.
• Update receiving logs (K.P.I Receipt Log and C.P. Inventory Clearing Accounts Reconciliation Log) after receiving items.
• Investigate inventory variances, seek approval and make corrections on the database.
• Assist with spot checks and stock-taking exercises, and update physical count data on the database.
• Audit transaction books (delivery notes, inter-warehouse transfers, goods returns) for missing documents and follow up on outstanding and back-ordered items.
• Assist in pricing and re-pricing inventory, check proformas against purchase orders and verify invoices against orders.
• Follow up on order confirmations, update the order log book with shipment information, and attach purchase orders to receiving covers.
• Maintain adherence to ISO standards and HSE policies, and perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum of five CXC O' Level passes including English and Mathematics.
• Minimum of two years' work experience in a similar environment.
• Certification in Materials Management (e.g. CIPS) or equivalent is an asset.
• Knowledge of inventory control and warehousing is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, with strong organization, problem-solving and communication skills.
