Senior Communication Associate, Caribbean Multi-Country Office

About the role

The Caribbean Multi-Country Office (MCO) of UNICEF, which covers twelve English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean countries, is hiring a Senior Communication Associate (GS7, fixed term) in Kingston. Reporting under the Communications Specialist (team lead), the post provides communication and advocacy support to the MCO, helping turn programme evidence, policy priorities and advocacy objectives into communication products and engagement opportunities. It sits within the Communication & Advocacy working group.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of communication and advocacy activities
• Support campaigns, public engagement and brand visibility
• Support knowledge management and digital communication
• Provide administrative and operational support
• Collaborate with and support the team

Required profile

• Secondary education completed; a university degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Marketing, International Relations, Social Sciences or another relevant field is highly desirable
• At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in communications, advocacy, public information, media relations, digital communications, social media, journalism, marketing, stakeholder engagement or a related field
• Experience planning, coordinating and implementing communication and advocacy activities
• Experience drafting, editing and producing communication products for diverse audiences
• Experience coordinating campaigns, events, media outreach and public engagement initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
