Insurance Advisor

About the role

The Insurance Advisor contributes to the profitable growth of Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance Company Limited by delivering tailored insurance solutions, achieving sales targets and building lasting client relationships. The role covers assessing clients' needs, recommending suitable coverage and reviewing it as circumstances change, while also referring clients to other banking services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess clients' needs, explain available options and recommend appropriate insurance packages
• Achieve sales targets and generate prospects through worksite marketing, individual discussions, seminars and database segmentation
• Review coverage at policy anniversaries and when clients' circumstances change, recommending adjustments
• Respond professionally to enquiries, concerns and complaints, ensuring appropriate referrals and adherence to service standards
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the company's products and communicate their features, benefits and value
• Refer clients to other banking services based on needs uncovered during consultations
• Carry out all activities in line with regulations, internal policies and procedures

Required profile

• First degree in Marketing or a related field
• Minimum of two years' sales experience, preferably in insurance or financial services, with a track record of meeting targets and building client relationships
• Knowledge of insurance products and the industry, with relevant qualifications through the Ordinary Long Term and Equity Examinations
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including presentation and public speaking

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Prior experience with Ingenium and NAS systems is an asset
