Junior Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

The Junior Warehouse Supervisor leads and motivates warehouse staff to achieve operational excellence and meet performance targets. The role covers efficient inventory handling, storage and tracking, coordination of picking, packing and shipping, quality assurance and safety compliance, and identification of continuous improvement opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the storage area, organize floor space and recommend improvements, and help secure the building and inventory
• Carry out safety inspections of the facility and report and follow up on repairs
• Ensure scheduled maintenance of forklifts, pick trucks and transport trucks, and log and report equipment accidents
• Manage timesheets and overtime, schedule and assign staff, train, coach and appraise employees, and monitor their performance against KPIs
• Enforce safety requirements, including wearing safety gear, and investigate accidents and incidents
• Receive incoming shipments with second counts and checks, coordinate binning and picking, and give second checks on daily orders and billing
• Segregate damaged or suspected goods, inspect inventory daily, conduct monthly physical counts and reconcile variances
• Control warehouse transactions and records, prepare weekly reports and handover reports, and follow delivery schedules

Required profile

• BSc. degree in Business Administration
• Three or more years of warehouse or distribution management experience
• Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management and of warehousing KPIs
• Ability to work at a fast pace, for long hours, on weekends, and to stand and move around frequently
