Senior Technical Advisor - Bakery

About the role

Puratos, a global leader in bakery, pastry and chocolate ingredients, is strengthening its team in Jamaica (preferably Montego Bay, Ocho Rios or the hotel zone). The Senior Technical Advisor advises and trains customers on the use, application and preparation of the company's products, with an emphasis on bakery knowledge and experience in pastry and/or chocolate making, while running technical product demonstrations that drive sales.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice to customers on product applications, specifications, yields, costing, display and decoration, and recommend new uses
• Respond to customer inquiries, requirements and complaints
• Prepare work plans and submit technical reports on activities or visits
• Train customers and distributor sales teams on bakery, pastry and chocolate products, including preparing courses, presentations and technical demonstrations
• Deliver training at customer sites or Innovation Centers and run product trials requested by R&D
• Report unsafe conditions and maintain a risk-prevention attitude

Required profile

• Technical qualification in Food Technology, Bakery, Pastry or a related field
• 2 years of experience in related positions
• Pastry technician with hospitality experience
• Knowledge of bakery, pastry and chocolate products, and of machinery and safe handling
• Spanish desirable
